30069821_10155385040123016_2133288884_o.jpgMermaids, unicorns & fairies! Oh my! Tarte Cosmetics launched a new mermaid-esque collection on March 21st! This collection has a variety of different items – from an eyeshadow palette, brushes & so much more! This collection is perfect for the upcoming music festivals or if you’re just a mermaid lover!

I wouldn’t say any of this is necessary to have if you have similar things in your collection. But, as a makeup hoarder, this collection is a beautiful addition to my makeup collection!

Minutes to Mermaid Brush Set

29994503_10155383748128016_1452563690_o.jpgThis mermaid tail inspired brush set comes with 5 cruelty-free & vegan brushes. These brushes are freakin’ gorgeous & the bristles are amazingly soft! This brush set is almost too pretty to even use! However, I wish there were more eyeshadow brushes in this set. This set comes with a large powder brush, cheek brush, highlighting stippling brush, domed eyeshadow brush & a pencil brush. This set retails for $54CADshop* this brush set!

Lip Products

The two lip products I received were their LE Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in the shade Exposed – along with their Holographic Lip Gloss*. Both of which retail for $25CAD each. Tarte makes one of my favorite matte lipstick formulas! They’re very opaque, non-sticky & feel extremely comfortable on the lips. I have yet to try out their glosses though; but they smell delicious!

Face Products

Couple of face products I got are their LE Timeless Smoothing Primer* & their Mermaid Glitter Gel*. The Timeless Smoothing Primer is one of my holy grail primers! I was so happy when I saw this because I’m almost out of my second jar. This primer works so well if you have large pores like myself. As for the Glitter Gel, I don’t normally use glitter at all but this gel is so pretty that I kind of want to slather it all over my face. The Timeless Smoothing Primer retails for $47CAD & the Glitter Gel retails for $23CAD. Along with these two face products; Tarte also sent over a couple of their jewel packs – one for face* & one for body*! Both of which retail for $15CAD.

Eye Products

30070709_10155383751403016_146898623_o.jpgAlong with all the other goodies; I was sent their LE Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara*, their Mermaid Lashes* & their LE Picture Perfect Eyelash Curler/Deluxe Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara* set! The LCL Mascara retails for $30CAD, the Mermaid Lashes retail for $18CAD & the Eyelash Curler/Mascara set retails for $25CAD. I’ve tried their mascara LCL mascara in the past & didn’t mind it at all. As for the lashes; I haven’t tried their lashes before so I will give them a try! The lashes are super pretty though – since they fit into the whole mermaid theme; they’re not your regular basic lash. These lashes have pops of color in them too!

Overall Thoughts

29996029_10155385040128016_431291968_o.jpgNow that I’ve had a chance to play around with some of the items. I think this entire collection is super cute & Tarte has some of the most prettiest packaging around. The eyeshadows blend wonderfully & are super pigmented. Everything else works just fine as well. The only thing is – I wish they would bring out some BRIGHT, bold palettes. I think, I can speak for everyone, we’re over the same shades, the same basic neutrals. With that said; Tarte makes one of my favorite eyeshadow & lipstick formulas around so I’m still going to support them when I can.

I know they’ve had a lot of heat (most recently with their April Fools joke) but regardless of the brand – it’s still run by humans. Yes; the April Fools palette would’ve been a BOMB palette for them to come out with but it was a joke – I feel people take things a little too seriously; especially when it comes to makeup. Who knows; maybe that was their way of marketing & they may end up releasing a palette like it – I’ll be snatchin’ that up if they do!
